Not a quote, but a question today, museum friends!

We have several photographs and glass negatives from Vivian Sargent in our collection, including this cyanotype quilt block of some familiar images.

Would anyone have information about Vivian and her family? I would like to put together a small exhibit of her photographs with our summer employees.

Please feel free to contact me at 902 667-2561/[email protected], or message me through our FB page.

Is there anyone who can do a cyanotype workshop for the museum patrons?

The life of a rural doctor, whether you were Dr. Charles Tupper or our speaker today, Dr. Arnold Burden, was never dull. Many of us from Cumberland County remember listening to Dr. Burden and taking great comfort in his words throughout our lives, and with the quiet assurance that he would always come in times of need.

Today's quote is actually a dialogue between Dr. Burden and a desperate husband from Burden's book, The Dramatic Life of a Country Doctor.

Be well.

Thank you to Mieke Van Vulpen, her family, and all audience members for choosing the Cumberland County Museum and Archives as the place to be last evening. Mieke, your presentation on Ross Hamilton was informative and interesting. We appreciated meeting so many new people last evening, and welcoming old friends we hadn't seen in a while.

We hope to see you all again soon!

We are extremely lucky and thankful to have volunteer Ruthann Brittain Goodwin as our gardener this year. She is doing such an amazing job with our perennial beds and annual baskets.

Thank you, Ruthann! You are awesome!

Such were the words of the pilot of the Handley-Page Atlantic bomber aircraft, Major Herbert E. Brackley, as he crash-landed his plane on Parrsboro's harness racing track on July 5, 1919.

Wait a minute.... Parrsboro had a horse racing track?

Enjoy your evening.
