Meet Eleanor Luxton.

We are excited and proud to offer a temporary exhibit about the creator and passionate mind behind our Foundation and the work we do.

Eleanor had a love for history from an early age and carried it throughout her life. She was born in Banff, but life took some surprising turns including 4 University degrees, working with the CP Rail in the 1940's designing locomotives, and being diagnosed with MS mid-life.

She lived until her late 80's and was determined, strong willed, intellectual, and quietly active all her life.

Visit our Exhibits at Beaver Lodge to see

Eleanor Luxton: A Quiet Banff Trailblazer.
Opening Saturday July 4.

Open Sat & Sun throughout July and August.

Spring in Banff is famously patient—it’s been cold, snow comes and goes, though there is some sunshine it’s easy to feel a bit disheartened. But look at the soil of the historic Luxton garden… the Bow Valley's natural history is waking up. 🌷

New growth is pushing through, reminding us of resilience. These first buds foreshadow the coming of a busy season ahead at the Eleanor Luxton Historical Foundation.

We officially open the MUSEUM for the season in May!
☀️🏔️

As the garden begins to bloom, we are also preparing for

Local’s Days in May & June (with locals’ bundles draw prizes)

Our summer exhibit, "A Quiet Banff Trailblazer," celebrating Eleanor’s enduring legacy

AND as we move into summer watch for:

Croquet Sundays, and

Free tea service every weekend.

Swipe through to see the first signs of life at 206 Beaver Street—a little bit of green to brighten your feed.
