Bear River Historical Society & Museum The Bear River Historical Society runs the Bear River Heritage Museum in the Oakdene Community Centre at 1913 Clementvale Rd in Bear River.

Our aim is to maintain our artifact based museum and the history it contains The Museum features displays of the shipbuilding industry; Bear River being one of the great shipbuilding towns of the province, as well as agricultural, social, community, education, household and native M’ikmaq displays. A small admission fee is charged.

This position plays an important role both behind the scenes and on the front lines—supporting donor engagement, enhancing visitor experiences, and strengthening the relationships that sustain the Academy’s future.

Join us for Rocks for Rob — a celebration of life honouring Rob Buckland-Nicks through creativity, colour, and community. 💙

📍 The Flight of Fancy
📅 June 13

Paint a rock in honour of Rob and bring it along to be included in a special commemorative display. This will also be an opportunity to share stories, memories and experiences of Rob.

If you’re unable to attend on June 13th, you’re still welcome to bring your painted stone during a future visit to The Flight of Fancy. 🎨

Gathering will take place on the grassy lawn area behind The Flight of Fancy. Parking is available behind the Legion and nearby comfort station washrooms will be open for use. This event is rain or shine so please dress accordingly.

We have a small selection of ocean-tumbled stones available for painting — while supplies last.
