A MESSAGE FROM OUR RESEARCHER:
55 YEARS AGO THREE YOUNG BOYS FROM THE RACINE FAMILY BECAME ARMY CADETS IN BRANDON.
THEY JOINED 71 FIELD BATTERY. THE TWINS DOUG AND DARRILL WENT ON TO REGULAR FORCE (3 RCHA) LATER THEY WERE IN THE AIRBORN REGIMENT ARTILLERY BATTERY. THEN ON TO UNIVERSITY.
TODAY DR. DARRILL RACINE HAS RETIRED FROM HIS POSITION AS NATIVE STUDIES PROFESSOR AT BRANDON UNIVERSITY.
HE IS NOW PRODUCING YOUTUBE CONTENT UNDER THE TITLE "STOLEN SCIENCE"
HE EXPLORES THE TRANSFER OF KNOWLEDGE AND ITEMS FROM FIRST NATIONS.

Starting May 1, the Commonwealth Air Training Plan Museum is extending our hours - now open 10 AM to 4 PM daily.
More time to explore, more time to discover, and maybe even more time to fall in love with a piece of history you didn’t expect.
Come wander the hangar, meet the stories, and see where Brandon’s National Historic Site connects to a global story.

This year marks the 81st anniversary of the end of the Battle of the Atlantic – a historic milestone to reflect on the thousands of Canadians and allies who were instrumental in turning the tide of the Second World War.

This May 3rd, HMCS Chippawa will hold a ceremony to commemorate and remember the sacrifices of the brave members of the Canadian Forces and allied militaries.

⚓️- Members of the public are invited to attend.

The ceremony will start at 1015hrs.
Please arrive by 1000hrs to be seated.

HMCS Chippawa is located at 1 Navy Way, Winnipeg, MB

Please park on city streets or in available parking lots. Thank you.
