Breton Museum

Breton Museum Museum focusing on Black History, the lumber industry, agriculture, and local community.

We are a small-town museum looking at the big picture, with the focus of our collection being Black History, logging, farming, and community. Breton (formerly known as Keystone) was established in the early 1900’s and is one of only a few communities in Alberta that was founded by African American settlers who moved north out of the southern states. This unique history brings life to our museum as

we strive to preserve the story of these pioneering families as the community grew and changed around them.
