Over 400 more barcodes setup in excel, then imported in square, printed and now putting them on the items. That is not including pictures yet. I can’t wait for this stage to be over. This for me is the hardest. I can handle most work but this is brutal, but I think of all the free evenings I can have going forward, to go out for a walk. 😃

So our store is opening at noon tomorrow. We will try to be open every day until Labour Day weekend. Then we will reassess for the fall and be open online when I finish the barcoding. We have some new product and some familiar products. Though I’m open, I’ll be adding more product out on the floor every day for the next 10 days or so. I’ll contact all the vendors individually as I’m getting through it.
After that, I can take any new product that you have. Once again, thanks for your patience. It’s been such a tedious process. I can’t believe no more manual, gruelling calculationing. Yippee!!

There are a few things in life that instantly bring me back to another time and fill me with nostalgia.

One is Clara Dunne’s paintings. They remind me so much of growing up in Newfoundland and my mind always drifts back to happy memories and simpler days.

Another is the music of Eric O’Brien.

Eric recorded these CDs many years ago, and I’m currently working on digitalizing them so they can finally be available on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and other platforms. If everything goes smoothly, they should hopefully be ready for pre-order within the next three weeks.

I wanted to share this song as an introduction.

I found myself listening to Eric’s music over and over again in my car. His music carries such a deep feeling of Newfoundland, memory, love, loss, and days gone by. The lyrics and melodies touched my heart in a way that’s difficult to explain.

I added some photos of my mom here because this song reminds me of her struggle. I have cried many times listening to this. But I think this song is so beautiful, and gives such a voice to those that can’t articulate it anymore. Mom, we love you so much.

I think this is the first time that Eric’s music has been digitally presented online.

One of the most beautiful relationships is a grandparent and grandchild. Mom raised 8 of us but she was different with Dain. He wasn’t there every weekend, we are a busy family but they have such a special bond. Some connections do not need a lot of words. And of all the things I’ve done in my life, I was so fortunate to go to Korea and find my 2 men, and then come home so my family, especially mom, could know Lee and Dain. She adores them. And she knew Dain today and said what she always said, “you’re some good boy”. ❤️
