Clip Clop is exploring Leitch Collieries Provincial Historic Site in the Crowsnest Pass!
From 1907 to 1915, this site was home to a coal and coke operation, the only wholly Canadian-owned mine in the Crowsnest Pass. Today, the stabilized ruins of the processing plant offer a glimpse into Alberta’s industrial past, with storyboards, photos, and listening posts bringing the site back to life.
Clip Clop enjoyed discovering this piece of history tucked into the mountains. It’s a reminder that even quiet places have big stories to tell.
