Please join us in welcoming our Co-Op student, Sezira, to the Buxton National Historic Site & Museum!

Sezira’s focus is in Horticulture, and she is the talent behind all of the beautiful flowers you’ll see around our site this season. Her hard work and creativity are already helping make our grounds look amazing!

Next on her list? A fruit and vegetable garden that will continue to grow and enhance the museum experience. We are excited to have her as part of our team and look forward to seeing her projects come to life.

What an inspiring day of learning, leadership, and meaningful conversations at the 2026 Diversity Symposium! Students from secondary schools across LKDSB and SCCDSB came together to connect, reflect, and explore the power of their voices and experiences.
The day began with an impactful keynote from Cameron Davis, whose message challenged students to recognize the influence they have in shaping change within their communities and beyond.
Students also participated in engaging breakout sessions, including a mindful yoga and wellness session led by Shawna Regan from .ck, a student-led engagement session, and an interactive Q&A with Cameron facilitated by the Josiah Henson Museum of African-Canadian History, and Buxton National Historic Site & Museum.
Lunch featured delicious samples from Yardie Vibez, and we wrapped up the day with an Ice Cream Social — the perfect ending to a day centered around diversity, leadership, and building connections.
Thank you to all the students, speakers, partners, and organizers for making this such a memorable experience. The future is in good hands.
