Qu'Appelle Valley Centre for the Arts (QVCA) is a non-profit, member-run community arts facility for the advancement of diverse arts, crafts and cultural expression. We are a non-profit charitable volunteer organization committed to fostering, developing, promoting, programming, and showcasing a wide range of cultural activities in the visual, performing, and literary arts and crafts. We have take

n an over one hundred year old building and turned it into a cultural centre for the arts. We have four rooms that are ready for use – a Performance Room, Art Gallery, Art Studio, and Dance Studio. Our Performance Room contains a fully equipped kitchen complete with fridge, stove, cupboards, and triple sink — perfect for your next meeting, family gathering, or workshop. To book a room please fill out this QVCA Space Rental Agreement and send it, with your $50 damage deposit cheque (performers do not need to send the damage deposit) to our address at the top of the page.

QVCA AGM - a Special Invitation for you.

Thank you for your support and participation in all the activities and events happening at the QVCA this year and past years. We aspire to build community through partnerships for the promotion of arts, culture and heritage. Please join us at our AGM on Monday, May 25/26 to share your ideas and visions for the use of this shared space, your community place.

As a member of QVCA, you have voting privileges at the AGM. Memberships can be renewed at the AGM. If you are not a member yet you can become one at any time. Your investment as a member allows us to offer activities at a low cost that ensures access and value for all.

The AGM is a yearly meeting that informs members and shareholders about business matters and strategy. It provides members of the community the opportunity to share their vision for the organization’s future.

The Qu’Appelle Valley Centre for the Arts (QVCA) is envisioned as a cultural centre for our community that is committed to foster, develop, promote, program and showcase a wide range of cultural activities in the visual, performing and literary arts and crafts. It is intended to be a place for the local community to share their work with others, to learn and grow their talent. We hope to provide a cultural centre for our town and the surrounding area to develop and enhance an appreciation for the arts.

Your membership gives you the privilege of a vote at the AGM for building community through arts, culture and heritage.

Everyone welcome – this is your opportunity to share your ideas and vision for the future of this shared space, your community place.

Writing workshop - Are you ready to give your words wings?

If you have been looking for a place to write, share and grow – this is it! Give your words wings, try new things and connect with people who love words as much as you do. Join us for a special workshop as part of the 30th MSAF celebrations.

On Wednesday, 29 July/26 we are planning a writing workshop during the day and an evening of readings to share stories and poetry that inspire. If you are interested, reply to this email and provide some information that helps us to customize a workshop that meets your interests.

Launch of Jim Harding's New Book The Long Sixties - Sat., Apr. 18

The book The Long Sixties: Stories from the New Left, edited by Jim Harding is being launched on Saturday, April 18 at 2:00 pm at the Qu'Appelle Valley Centre for the Arts.

In this book, seven veteran activists from the sixties, all still engaged in campaigns and organizations across Canada, tell their stories of transformational activism.

Jim Harding will be there, and there will be lots of time for a Q&A session and discussion. Everyone is welcome.

Inspiring stories from seven Canadians who have spent sixty plus years fighting for social justice and transformative change.
