Wreckwood refers to a maritime tradition where sailors, crew, or salvagers collect pieces of floating debris or fragments from notable shipwrecks to keep as reminders, historical relics or commemorative keepsakes.
These pieces were recovered from RMS Titanic and are on view in our gallery.

We're hiring a Curator of Education and Visitor Experience at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic! The Curator is a senior position responsible for providing strategic direction, vision, and management of the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic’s educational and experiential learning. The Curator provides leadership to the Visitor Experience Team and supports the achievement and evaluation of Boat School’s educational goals. Additionally, the role leads the development, growth, and long-term sustainability of an inclusive volunteer program.

Spooky season is upon us and we ghouls just wanna have fun 👻

Join us on Oct 31st for fa-boo-lous guided tours scheduled throughout the day that are included in your museum admission. You never know what (or who 👀) you might encounter on the way….💀

We will also have dress up in the Days of Sail gallery 🏴‍☠️ spooky short films in the Warehouse Theatre 🦇 and scavenger hunts with prizes 🍬from 10-3pm
