K9 Lifelines x Centre[3] 🐾

Behind the scenes of our K9 Lifelines collaboration at Centre[3] — exploring how support, care, and accessibility come together in creative spaces.

Accessibility is not only about physical access. It is also about creating spaces where people feel supported, included, comfortable, and able to participate.

Thank you to K9 Lifelines for being part of this meaningful moment with us. 💛

Accessibility at Centre[3] means creating spaces where people can engage, move, learn, and create in different ways.

From touchless entry and flexible workspaces to braille printing, tactile tools, accessible exhibition materials, and technology that supports gallery experiences, accessibility shows up in both big and small details.

Through collaborations with , Metiscaron, , and , this work continues to highlight how artists, community partners, and accessibility-focused organizations help build more inclusive creative spaces.

Braille printing at Centre[3] helps make exhibition information accessible through touch, while tools like and S3nsora support different ways of experiencing and engaging with art.

Today, on Global Accessibility Awareness Day, we’re highlighting how accessibility lives across creative spaces, exhibitions, production, and community collaboration.
At Centre[3], access is not one single feature. It can look like technology that supports different ways of experiencing artwork, tactile tools that invite hands-on learning, accessible exhibition materials, and gallery spaces that welcome different access needs.
From S3nsora’s access technology to BrailleDoodle tools, braille-printed materials, and the presence of support animals in creative spaces, these moments remind us that accessibility is built through care, intention, and collaboration.
This content also connects to the current exhibition in our main gallery and the Beacon prototyping project, supported by the Canada Council for the Arts.
Visitors can explore accessibility features in the gallery through the S3nsora app/QR code.
Accessibility grows when we build, learn, and create together.

☝️Come take a look at Emerging Artist‐in‐Residence Brenda Reid's first time screenprinting at our studio! Follow along to see their progress! Have you tried screenprinting before?

"First time burning images for screenprinting solo! Don't worry, have been trained by the awesome staff at . It's a goal for me to learn screen print (or silkscreening however you want to call it) during my residency. I'm working on a 2 colour print! Wish me luck 😅"

Brenda Reid (they/them) is an emerging multidisciplinary artist and designer who works and lives in Kitchener, ON, on the Haldimand Tract, land promised to the Six Nations. Brenda’s practice explores care and spatial politics and the peculiarity of urban space. Their work often draws on historical care artifacts such as quilts and explores the role of softness in expressing care. The work uses art as a medium to have difficult conversations around ethics and the impacts of city-building and dwelling.

Centre[3] is pleased to present “Carmela Laganse: In Process”.

“Carmela Laganse: In Process” is part of our short video series, “Collapsing the Distance Between Us.” Each piece in this series goes behind the scenes, visiting different art studios to listen and learn from local artists and their unique artistic practices.

Carmela Laganse’s practice engages with intersections of embodied experience and perception as well as exploring the agency embedded in objects and environments. Working in a variety of media, she often builds interactive work or portable, modular environments that playfully and critically integrate physical, emotional, ritualistic, and intellectual processes through an intersectional lens. Carmela Laganse is one of the principal investigators of The Sari Sari Xchange , an emergent media based collaboration driven by artists, researchers, and cultural leaders from the Asian diasporic community.
