Have you always wanted to learn how to do screen printing? Or do you need a refresher?

This small group class, taught over two weeks, is for those who are totally new to screen printing and are looking for experience and instruction in how to get started. It is also very valuable for those who have screen printed in the past but need to refresh the basics as a prerequisite for working in the studio.
In a fully equipped studio with an experienced instructor and hosts, you will gain confidence in producing artwork using the screen-printing process.
Over the 4 days of instruction, you will learn:
· Screen preparation – how to prepare, print, and care for a screen.
· Image creation – how to decide on an image and create a stencil. Design and position your image. Expose the image, wash out the screen and get ready to print.
· Getting the steps in order- establishing your workflow process including how to prepare your paper and ink, register your print using the screen table; Pull the prints.
· Cleaning and storing the screen

You will be given a screen to work with that you will prepare, use and care for during the class. Paper, mylar, and ink will be provided to get your started.
An additional open studio date will be set after the course where you can come in and work on your own at the studio to practise what you learned. Other studio members will be present to answer questions and support you.
After the Introduction to Screen printing, additional open studio time can be arranged to practise and explore screen skills for those who are interested.
