Located north of Highway 5 on the outskirts of Kamsack, and housed in the community’s former power plant, the Kamsack Power House Museum brings th

e past to life with rooms furnished from the early 1900s (including a kitchen, barber shop and blacksmith's shop) and many other displays that together illuminate the history of the area. Highlights of our collection include a Mirrlees Bickerton & Day engine that was used to supply electricity to Kamsack from 1915-1960, displays of local Russian, Ukrainian and Chinese heritages, a fully restored one-room schoolhouse from the Poplar Point district, a restored Caboose, and much more. The Museum is also available to visit during the off-season by appointment; call Lydia Cherkas (306-542-3055) or Darlene Brown (306-542-3536) to set up a tour.
