Many years ago, we needed money to build a new rink! Do you remember the Can Shed? Picking garbage at the Jamboree? Serving drinks for Wayne Martindale (owner of the Lumsden Hotel) at concerts in Craven. We raised money and had fun! The Lumsden Duck Derby was imagined by a group of volunteers committed to building and maintaining a facility for the entire community.

I mentioned last week, the museum needs your help in preserving stories for the future. This is one example. The Duck Derby. These pictures are from my personal albums. Please share your stories and photos of history being made:)

Sandy and I will be at the Museum table with our “What’s this used for?” bucket. Stop by and try to guess what your grandparents, or theirs, used everyday:)
I’ve got my box of gently used sports equipment ready and looking forward to a hotdog and great conversation.

Happy volunteer Tuesday! It was a great day at the museum. Painting started at the Blacksmith shop, Raised Athletics & Raised FIT kids popped in, I had my weekly note taking session with past president Bill King and we squeezed in a Scarecrow planning session! Whew!
For all you vehicle enthusiasts, this poster is for you! Share with your car club groups and we would love to see you on September 26th!
