Join us on Tuesday, June 2, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm for our second annual Ocean Day at FMA as we celebrate our ocean!

Enjoy info booths and hands-on activities from a variety of ocean partners, including Whale Sanctuary Project, Canadian Whale Institute, Ocean Sonics, Coastal Action, Canadian Sea Turtle Network, and Fisheries and Oceans Canada!

The August Gales: 100 Years Later

100 years ago, the fishing port of Lunenburg endured two devasting fishing seasons that claimed the lives of more than 100 fishers. For those left behind the impact was far reaching and generational. Sylvia Mosher (August 10, 1926) and Mahala (August 29, 1927) both perished during the two treacherous fishing seasons.
