WANTED CPR MEMORABILIA
Do you have any CANADIAN PACIFIC RAILWAY (CPR) items tucked away that you would like to donate to the new Railway Station Exhibit?
We are looking for dishes, mugs, cups and saucers, plates, cutlery, menus, items from The Tremont Hotel or dining cars. If you have a good picture of the Tremont Hotel and would like to part with it we could use it as well. In fact any item with CPR on it such as line insulators, ticket stubs, gloves, train worker whistle, or countless other items we may be able to use them.
If you have an engineer’s wrist or pocket watch, lapel pins or CPR recognition jewellery we would like to display those as well to honour the men and women who dedicated their working careers to the rails! We have a jewellers case to permanently display the item with the railroaders name and years of service.
We already have a large quantity of lanterns, oil cans, tools, pictures and things like that. However, if you have something and would like to donate it, please call Cheryl Johnson at 204-867-2624 to discuss.
Any history or story about the item would be appreciated so that visitors can read about it as they view the items.
Please note that all items donated become the property of the museum.
The grand opening of the Railway Station Exhibit will be on August 20, 2023 as part of the Museum’s Heritage Day Fun Fest event at the Museum and Heritage Village. See you there!
