THE EXHIBIT

The exhibit takes you through 5,000 years of Egyptian history and culture, focusing on the world renowned King Tut, the boy king of Ancient Egypt and Pharaonic times. The exhibit also showcases Greco-Roman, Coptic and Islamic artifacts to showcase the deep rich history of Egypt. The exhibit allows you to discover the beauty of these ancient artifacts, most of which are permanently located in Egypt. Reproduced by the Egyptian Art Center, the pieces offer a more intimate experience than the real items. KING TUT

Share in the excitement of Howard Carter’s discovery as you enter Tutankhamun’s fabled burial. With its unparalleled collection of treasures and artifacts The Boy King is more complete than any previous exhibition of originals. No detail is left out in rebuilding the legendary tomb of the Boy King of Egypt, including a faithful replica of his mummy. Tutankhamun is undoubtedly the most famous of the Pharaohs. Alexandre the great, Ptolemy, and Cleopatra represent the Ptolemaic Kingdom of Egypt (greco/greek) until 30 BC after Octavian (the future emperor Augustus) defeated Mark Antony, and claimed Egypt for the Roman Empire. This is when Christianity settled into Egypt, Coptic becoming their liturgical language. There was some rule by the Byzantines, after a brief Persian invasion, until 639, when Egypt was invaded and conquered by the Islamic Empire by the Muslim Arabs. They continued to govern the country until the conquest of Egypt by the Ottoman Turks in 1517, after which it became a province of the Ottoman Empire. Under 5: free
