We had the pleasure of welcoming Yesha West today!

Currently pursuing her PhD in the Individualized Program at Concordia University, Yesha is studying public history and First World War clothing.

With the goal of creating a replica, she pulled a pattern from a VAD uniform in our collection. This documented process and finished replica will serve as valuable educational tools for the Centre.

Nous avons eu le plaisir d’accueillir Yesha West aujourd’hui !

Actuellement doctorante au sein du programme individualisé de l’Université Concordia, Yesha étudie l’histoire publique et les vêtements de la Première Guerre mondiale.

Dans le but de créer une réplique, elle a reproduit le patron d’un uniforme de notre collection. Ce processus et la réplique finale constitueront de précieux outils pédagogiques pour le Centre.

Presented by the Vimy Foundation and the Canadian Centre for the Great War, this travelling exhibition will be on display at the Lorne Scots Regimental Museum from April 1 to May 26, 2026 (55 Queen Street East, Brampton, ON).

Discover how Canadians remembered the First World War in the years that followed, through original stories, artifacts, and creative works. À l’occasion du 90e anniversaire du pèlerinage canadien de Vimy de 1936, les visiteurs auront l’occasion de découvrir notre toute nouvelle exposition, Le chemin du retour : Sur les traces du pèlerinage à Vimy de 1936, qui retrace le parcours remarquable de milliers de vétérans canadiens et de leurs familles retournés en France pour l’inauguration du Mémorial de Vimy.

We’re excited to announce that tour season at the Canadian Centre for the Great War begins April 9! Join us for a guided visit and explore our unique collection dedicated to Canada’s First World War history. Our doors will be open every Friday and Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m, at 1195 Sherbrooke St. West, Montreal.

Marking the 90th anniversary of the 1936 Canadian Vimy Pilgrimage, visitors will have the opportunity to experience our newest exhibition, The Way Back: Tracing the 1936 Vimy Pilgrimage, which follows the remarkable journey of thousands of Canadian veterans and their families who returned to France for the unveiling of the Vimy Memorial.
