Over 80 of you showed up last night to celebrate the legendary George Littlechild, making it an evening we won’t ever forget. ✨

To our incredible collectors and everyone who filled the room with joy, thank you. As Ashdale Gallery celebrates its 3rd anniversary this month, nights like this remind us exactly why we do what we do.

George is an artist who commands attention. His impact, voice, and influence are extraordinary, and I urge you to come by, walk through the show, and chat with me about why he is an absolute icon of our time.

Love is Love runs here until October 31st before moving to the fabulous Gallery Merrick. These works are moving quickly, so if you’ve been considering a piece, don’t wait!

With a career spanning four decades, George Littlechild (Nanekawasis) is not only one of Canada’s distinctive contemporary First Nations artists—he is a trailblazer in modern Indigenous art history.

As a Plains Cree and Two-Spirit artist, Littlechild revolutionized contemporary art by replacing muted traditional palettes with bold, electric colors that celebrate joy, ancestral strength, and identity. His groundbreaking mixed-media works—held in major museum collections, national archives, and public galleries across North America—bridge historic reclamation with vibrant self-expression.

Acquiring a Littlechild piece isn’t just an investment in a highly celebrated master artist; it’s owning an undeniable piece of living cultural history and visual storytelling.

Love is Love opens Oct 17–31 at Ashdale Gallery.
