Exhibit Feature: Eddy Dales General Store

In 1942, Eddy Dales worked in Mr. Ledger’s grocery store. This is where his love for the grocery business started, and where he met his future wife, Dorothy. Along with Dorothy and Eddy, their eight children worked at the store.

Brian Bourke later joined the team and in 1980 the building upgraded to better fit the needs of the community. The Eddy Dales general store provided dedicated and personalized services to its community.

Come check out our mainstreet exhibit to experience the store for yourself and learn more about Onoway's rich history!

Sadly, three bobbin covers have mysteriously disappeared from sewing machines in our collection. As a volunteer-run organization, acts of vandalism and theft hit us hard financially.

We are sharing this information in the hope that someone may have an extra bobbin cover that they would be willing to donate to the museum. We know that our community is filled with many generous and supportive people who care deeply about the museum, and for that we are grateful. ❤
