Galerie St-Laurent + Hill is pleased to announce a new artist Lawrence Morton to our roster!

Lawrence Morton is a colour field painter working in Toronto, Ontario. He studied artist history at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario and later at the Toronto School of Art. His work has been exhibited across Canada and the United States.

Lawrence says of his process:
"I usually begin the process by stripping down the subject matter to its essence and applying multiple layers of transparent colour. Over time, the colours interact, overlap and coalesce, creating a sense of depth and interest.

I work in oils, taking advantage of their unique lustre, richness and long drying time. My process is gradual and deliberate. A piece can take weeks or sometimes even months to complete."
