We are very pleased to welcome you to the McCulloch House for the 2026 season!
The McCulloch House will be open for tours from Tuesday to Saturday and from Thursday to Saturday you will find Amos Shelley on site creating the second chapter of Resilience, The Story of Pictou. Whether you love historic properties, local history, stop-motion film production, or simply want to drop in and explore, we look forward to seeing you!

A Glimpse into Gaelic Heritage
On this small fragment of paper, measuring just 11.5 cm by 17 cm, neat and precise Gaelic words are found. Written on both sides with a dip pen, the careful script reveals the dedication to preserving language and tradition.

The McCulloch House Museum is set to open in June 2026! The Pictou County Genealogy & Heritage Society has received sizeable support including a grant from the Community Museum Assistance Program (CMAP), as well as other considerable contributions backing the future of this historic site.

President Dan Currie, on behalf of the Society, expresses deep appreciation to all who contributed support through comments, letters, conversations and rallies. This collective encouragement underscores the community’s strong commitment to the McCulloch House.

At present, preparations continue to ensure the McCulloch House Museum remains dedicated to celebrating and preserving local history. Further details such as specific opening dates and upcoming projects will be shared soon.
