Between experiments, electricity and a certain time-travelling DeLorean, Doc Brown gives us plenty of reasons to think about protective equipment in Back to the Future.

Protective gloves have long been used around electrical, chemical and laboratory hazards, although the correct glove depends entirely on the hazard involved.

So next time you watch Doc at work, take a closer look at his hands. 🧤

A behind-the-scenes visit to the Hockey Hall of Fame with Phil Prichard led to a very special pickup for The Canadian Glove Museum. 🏒🧤

We’re bringing home several unique pairs of hockey gloves, each with a story to tell. Some show just how much the game’s equipment has changed, while others are connected to the players who wore them.......some really cool ones too!!!

The aviators, the flight suits, the helmets…and the gloves.

In Top Gun, flight gloves are part of the pilots’ instantly recognizable gear. But aviation gloves aren't just about completing the uniform.

Real flight gloves are designed with protection, dexterity and control in mind, because pilots still need precise use of their hands while operating equipment.

It’s a great example of something we love exploring at the Canadian Glove Museum: how different jobs have created very different gloves.

In the 1995 movie It Takes Two, Alyssa Callaway finds herself working in the Butkises’ scrap yard after switching places with Amanda.

The Butkises? Not exactly known for their kindness.

Giving her protective gloves to handle scrap metal? Surprisingly responsible. 😂🧤
