Strangest most amazing thing happened today, while I was carving outside, the Sun was shining bright and it got very warm, I used my knife and cut a layer of the paddle, and it’s then I noticed a tiny weeny little speck, on the edge of the cut piece, as small as the tip of a needle, shinning bright like a gold speck.
I wondered if maybe my knife lost a small piece of its edge, perhaps glistening in the sun, or if I had worn sparkles that could of fell unto the piece of wood.
And at that moment it just went out, after those thoughts, like a fire. A mini little fire I lit from my stroke.
It left a mini little black dot ⚫️

Early 2000s, another superbe rainy day at Henry’s carving shed on Chestermans beach. It’s cold, it’s wet, it’s getting dark, but we were good friends and had fun. Plus having Henry has a teacher meant the best of the west tools.
