Students aren't the only ones on the move now. Here is a sample of some of the butterflies that visited the butterfly garden at HMCS Ojibwa today. The regulars over the last few weeks include monarchs, viceroys, red admirals, buckeyes, many types of swallowtails, cabbage whites, a great spangled fritillary, a hummingbird moth and of course many types of skippers.

New way to keep in touch with HMCS Ojibwa location - especially since it is not possible to book on line on the currant day. Now you can call the Office Sea-can directly at 226-559-5175. During the daily summer hours between 11 and 5, you will get a real person, if they are not serving a customer, otherwise, your call will go to voice mail and we will return your call as soon as possible.

The Canada Day Parade in Port Burwell departs the Legion on Wellington Street at 10:30 on Wednesday. Sadly, community and Legion stalwart, Ted Shelly, will not be leading the Legion Colour Party but he is sure to be there in spirit. The parade goes down Wellington to Robinson to the Marine Museum area where the flag will be raised and everyone can belt out O Canada. There will be things to do and free refreshments so don’t miss out. For those who have Facebook, here is the link to the Historical Society link which outlines the program for the day.

Reminder _Thursday, June 25th HMCS OJIBWA is closed to public for tours as we welcome HMCS PREVOST. HMCS PREVOST is a Naval Reserve Division of the Royal Canadian Navy based in London, Ontario. ‘The badge device is taken from the crest in the Arms of Lieutenant-General Sir George Prevost, Bart, who was Governor-in-Chief of the Canadas in 1811, and Commander-in-Chief of the British Forces in Canada during the War of 1812.’

HMCS Ojibwa now open 7 days a week!
However, we are closed Thursday, June 25th to welcome personnel from HMCS Provost from London. Hours continue to be 11:00-4:00 with last tour starting at 3:40 until June 28th when we will be open until 5pm.

Last Saturday, June 13th, Sea Cadets from RCSCC Agamemnon based in Windsor, Ontario made HMCS Ojibwa their first stop on their weekend outing. They arrived in a Badder bus, ideal for day or longer trips. It was great to have them aboard! Wish I could have taken more images.
