"Sedna" par/by Jaco Ishulutak (1951 - ).

Sedna is a central figure in Inuit mythology, the goddess of the sea and marine animals. According to the legend, she was a young woman who refused to marry a shaman. Her father, to force her, threw her overboard from his kayak. As she clung to the boat, he cut off her fingers, which fell into the water and transformed into seals, walruses, and whales. Sedna sank to the bottom of the ocean, where she now reigns over marine creatures.
