Let’s rewind to 2012, when we celebrated another outstanding group of builders and champions at the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony!

🤠 Larry Robinson – One of the world’s best Tie-Down Ropers for two decades and a six-time Canadian Champion, showcasing excellence in rodeo.
⛸️ Michael Slipchuk – A true ambassador of figure skating whose career shined both on and off the ice. From National Junior Champion to Senior Men’s National Champion, with multiple podium finishes along the way, Michael left a lasting mark on Canadian skating.
🏒 Dale Henwood – From coaching at the university and Olympic levels to shaping sport behind the scenes, Dale dedicated his career to athlete and coach development through leadership roles with Hockey Alberta and the Alberta Sport Council.

These inspiring individuals helped build the foundation of sport in Alberta, and their impact still resonates today.

Congratulations to Alberta Sports Hall of Fame alum Chief Dr. Willie Littlechild on his second Order of Sport award.

Chief Dr. Wilton Littlechild has been a central figure in advancing Indigenous sport in Canada and internationally, creating new opportunities for Indigenous Peoples through sport and advocacy.

In 2018, Wilton was awarded the Order of Sport, marking his induction into Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame, in the Builder category. He will receive this honour in the Trailblazer category on November 4th at the 70th Order of Sport Awards: Legacy Edition.
