There is just something peaceful and serene about being near the sea. It comes from the meditative sound of the waves, the calming color of the water, and the ocean air.

The good people of Shediac can easily experience this tranquility right in town at Parlee Beach Provincial Park, known for its calm, warm saltwater and expansive sandy shores. As for the rest of you, you will have to come and visit Shediac to experience this.

The next best thing of course is to take home a beautiful piece of art, created by local artists in the area, that have put that feeling of calm serenity onto a canvas. Then you can enjoy this scene forever as you gaze upon it on your wall at home. Its a Win Win!

Here are some brighter and some might say "wilder" colour palettes to draw you in from two of our local artists who's artwork walks the line between representational and abstract. Artists Annette Martin and Florine Auffrey love to paint with bold colours and symbolism sprinkled into their work.

Some of these pieces fit the theme of "Fishing and Nautical", others are part of the 6" x 6" exhibition. After all, sometimes great things come in small canvases. Whichever theme you prefer, we are sure you will enjoy discovering their art and the art of many other local artists during this month's exhibition.

The Shediac Art Gallery is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm. Drop by this month and discover your new favourite artist!

Voici des palettes de couleurs vives, voire audacieuses, proposées par deux artistes locales dont le travail oscille entre figuration et abstraction. Annette Martin et Florine Auffrey affectionnent les couleurs vives et le symbolisme.

Certaines de ces œuvres s'inscrivent dans le thème « Pêche et Nautisme », d'autres font partie de l'exposition « 15 x 15 cm ». Après tout, les plus belles choses se trouvent parfois dans les petits formats. Quel que soit votre thème de prédilection, nous sommes certains que vous apprécierez découvrir leur art ainsi que celui de nombreux autres artistes locaux lors de l'exposition de ce mois-ci.

OMG! The Shediac Art Gallery looks fabulous! I am so impressed and amazed by the level of talent our local artists possess.

I am still setting up in one of the rooms but the majority of the work has been done. Here are some sneak peaks.

Don't forget, we have a Vernissage on the first Friday of EVERY month where you can come visit with the local artists that did your favourite painting. I'll bring the snacks!

Oh là là ! La galerie d'art de Shediac est magnifique ! Je suis vraiment impressionnée par le talent de nos artistes locaux.

Je suis encore en train d'installer mon espace dans une des salles, mais le plus gros du travail est fait. Voici un petit aperçu.

N'oubliez pas, nous organisons un vernissage le premier vendredi de chaque mois. Vous pourrez y rencontrer les artistes locaux qui ont réalisé votre tableau préféré. J'apporterai les collations !

New artworks are starting to flow into the Shediac Art Gallery in preparation for the new exhibit in June (Over 90 new pieces so far - always an exciting time). While of course there are still 2 days left in the May exhibit to shop, as new art comes in, we can sometimes put it out in advance of the next exhibit.

Keep an eye on the website. If it is on the website, this means it is on the walls.

Don't forget that on the 1st Friday of EVERY month, we have a party and celebrate each new exhibit. Some of the artists who's art is on the walls will be there. It is a great opportunity to have first pick to see what's new and meet the artist at the same time.

De nouvelles œuvres d'art commencent à arriver à la galerie d'art de Shediac en prévision de la nouvelle exposition de juin (plus de 90 nouvelles pièces à ce jour – c'est toujours un moment excitant !). Bien sûr, il reste encore deux jours pour visiter l'exposition de mai, mais à mesure que de nouvelles œuvres arrivent, nous pouvons parfois les exposer avant la prochaine.

Consultez régulièrement notre site web. Si une œuvre y figure, c'est qu'elle est déjà accrochée.

N'oubliez pas que le premier vendredi de chaque mois, nous organisons une fête pour célébrer chaque nouvelle exposition. Certains des artistes exposés seront présents. C'est une excellente occasion de découvrir les nouveautés en avant-première et de rencontrer les artistes.

Emily Boros-Rausch is a Moncton based multi-disciplinary artist specializing in abstract painting, and of course, for those of you that have been through the gallery this May you will know that Emily is our "Featured Artist" this month.

Emily Boros-Rausch has brought us a wonderful collection of her work, within the floral theme. Some pieces are large and make a great statement piece for your walls, others smaller and subtler to fill that perfect spot on a smaller wall. I have listed the sizes on each of the attached pictures.

We have a variety of warm and cool tones to choose from. Each piece is unique and inviting yet cohesive in it's style with the others. So you could mix and match some of the colours in the various rooms within your home.

Attached are some of her paintings at the gallery this month. We hope you are able to visit and see them in person while quantities last.

Emily Boros-Rausch nous présente une magnifique collection d'œuvres sur le thème floral. Certaines, de grand format, apporteront une touche d'originalité à vos murs, tandis que d'autres, plus petites et plus discrètes, habilleront à merveille un petit espace. Les dimensions sont indiquées sur les photos ci-jointes.

Vous trouverez un large choix de tons chauds et froids. Chaque œuvre est unique et accueillante, tout en conservant une harmonie stylistique avec les autres. Vous pourrez ainsi créer des combinaisons de couleurs dans différentes pièces de votre maison.

Vous trouverez ci-joint quelques-unes de ses peintures exposées à la galerie ce mois-ci. Nous espérons que vous aurez l'occasion de les admirer en personne, dans la limite des stocks disponibles.
