Another season is coming to a close, and we’re so grateful to everyone who visited, shared our story and supported the museum this summer.

Our final day is Monday, September 7, from 10 AM to 5 PM. If you’ve been meaning to visit, there’s still time to come explore a little piece of Souris history.

Thank you for an amazing season. We couldn’t do it without you!

We are offering a glimpse of what is possible!!

We’re kicking off our Hillcrest Museum restoration donation campaign, and this before and after shows the difference careful restoration can make. Thank you to the specialists Restoration Matters Winnipeg for helping us make this dream a reality!

This is just the beginning. With more windows and restoration work ahead, every donation will help us preserve the history and character of Hillcrest for generations to come.

Would you like to be part of Hillcrest’s restoration? Please feel free to reach out us to learn more about giving opportunities.

Thank you for helping us preserve this special piece of our community’s history.

Every community has places that tell its story. Hillcrest Museum is one of ours.

We’re beginning an exciting restoration project to return Hillcrest Museum to its original glory. Phase One will focus on restoring the front windows, front porch, and a set of historic balcony doors. This is the first step in a restoration project of more than $100,000 that will preserve this treasured landmark for generations to come.

There are many ways to support this project. Every donation, no matter the size, will help bring another piece of Hillcrest back to life. Sponsorship opportunities will be available for those wishing to support the restoration of individual windows, doors, or sections of the porch. Gifts may also be made in memory or in honour of a loved one.

Whether you’re a lifelong resident, a former Sourisite, or simply someone who believes in preserving local history, we invite you to be part of this journey.

As our restoration campaign grows, you’ll see Hillcrest come back to life, one piece at a time. Every gift will help return another part of the museum to colour, symbolizing the progress we’re making together.

Together, we can preserve the stories, craftsmanship, and heritage that connect us while ensuring Hillcrest Museum continues to inspire future generations.

With gratitude,

The Hillcrest Museum Board of Directors

As our community gets ready for this weekend’s parade, we thought it would be fun to look back through the years. These photos remind us that our summer festivities have been bringing people together for generations. They capture community pride, our local businesses, service groups, school, families, and neighbours all finding their own way to celebrate.

Whether you grew up in, visiting, new to Souris or are discovering this traditions for the first time, we are reminded that community is built by the people who show up.

Can you identify where these photos were taken?

Do you know what year any of them are from?

Can you recognize any of the people, businesses, or floats?

What summer celebration or fair memory do these photos bring back for you? We’d love to hear your stories in the comments.

Then, come out this weekend and help create the next chapter in our story. And we will see you at the parade on Saturday 10am!!
