We are excited to annouce our very first STRATFORD ARTISTS TAKEOVER UNDER $250 ART SHOW!!

Because why wait until summer to showcase more local artists?

Our Stratford Artists Takeover has brought so much local talent through our doors since 2023, and this year, we’re making room for a little holiday edition.

More than 40 local artists. Over 135 original artworks. Every piece $250 or less.

Some artists are joining us for the very first time; others have been with us since the beginning. Together, they’re giving you plenty of reasons to put local art on your gift list.

For the friend who has everything. The family member you never know what to buy. The coworker who keeps you sane. Or that spot in your own home you’ve been meaning to fill. Yes, buying yourself art counts. And every piece purchased supports an artist in our community.

Come find something you love and support the artists who made it.

Fall & Spooky season have arrived and so has THE SCREAM 😱 🧡

In 1893, Edvard Munch was walking at sunset when the sky suddenly turned blood red. Overcome by a wave of melancholy, he later described feeling an “infinite scream passing through nature.”

Fun fact: the figure in The Scream isn’t actually screaming.

Those hands pressed against its face are a reaction to the scream Munch imagined moving through the landscape around him; a moment of anxiety, nature and emotion collapsing into one of the most recognizable images in art history.

Obviously, we had to make it a cocktail.

Tequila, blood orange, fresh citrus and a silky egg-white finish create a vivid, almost unnervingly orange sour, but still strangely comforting and delicious.

In 2012 the painting sold at auction for $120 million USD. You can experience it at Matilda for $15 CDN 😉
