REMINDER: Call for Artists Ends Tomorrow

We’re still accepting submissions for the Do West Fest 2026 Community Stage Art Installation

Last year’s installation by Oliviana Cinco transformed the stage into a vibrant visual backdrop for local live performances - creating a space that brought together music, art, and community day and night!

We are excited to see how artists will reimagine the space this year.

✨All mediums welcome
✨Budget: 5,000 CAD (inclusive of materials, artist fee and installation costs)

DEADLINE: Friday, May 15, 2026 at 11:59pm

We’re pleased to announce the opening of Repetition & Rupture, the first solo exhibition by Klara Vanzella Yang, curated by Paola Poletto.

Working across painting and textile, Yang explores the tension between familiarity and disruption through pattern, repetition, and transformation. Her work reflects an ongoing negotiation between structure and instability, where geometric systems are stretched, distorted, and reconfigured.

🗓 Opening reception: May 21, 6–9pm

🎟 Free, spots are limited (sign up link in bio)

📍 Underscore Projects 1468 Dundas St West, 2nd floor, Toronto M6J 1Y6 (Please note that the exhibition is not wheelchair accessible due to stairs)

📆 Exhibition on view until August 30th 2026

Join us to celebrate! We’d love to see you there ✨

About the Artist

Klara Vanzella Yang is a visual artist and designer whose work explores the tension between stability and disruption. After studying Architecture at the University of Toronto, Yang shifted toward smaller-scale practices in product and graphic design, developing an increasingly intuitive engagement with form, structure, and visual communication.

Alongside her practice, a sustained interest in human behaviour and perception led her to return to academia for a second degree in Psychology. This continued study informs her ongoing interest in cognition, attention, and the ways meaning is constructed through repetition, pattern, and experience.

Join us for a creative workshop by Studio Mangue .studio exploring our affective relationship with bodies of water through conversation, movement, and collective artistic expression. 🌊

We live in a city whose name carries a deep connection to water - yet urban design has created a rupture in how we experience it.

This gathering opens space for reflection, shared dialogue, and creative exploration. Together, we’ll move, converse, and create, including a guided artistic activity in collaboration with DrawingTO (.drawingto).

Tenderness As Our Strength 🌹
by

This mural explores tenderness as a form of strength. Two women–flower figures nurture and harvest roses, reminding us that fragility and power can coexist - like petals and thorns, tenderness helps us grow and protect each other collectively.

La Pupila’s largest mural to date, this piece challenges traditional expectations of femininity. These figures don’t perform or “smile” - they embody quiet strength, care, and resilience.

Located on Brock Ave, south of Dundas West, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

La Pupila is a Colombian artist based in Toronto. Her work explores feminine energy, often infused with an aura of melancholy. Through symbols, distorted forms, and evocative faces, she illustrates her fears and hopes.

Produced by in collaboration with

Funded by the City of Toronto with additional support from Torcan Equipments (), Benjamin Moore() & Merit Decorating Centre ().

Now part of our neighbourhood’s mural collection - maintained and cared for by the .museum
