Do you have Ukrainian art, handcrafted pieces, or cultural items that are ready to find a new home? Our Boutique Committee is seeking donations of Ukrainian items that can be resold as Baba’s Treasures. Proceeds from their sale directly support the Museum’s programming and operations, helping us continue to preserve, celebrate, and share Ukrainian cultural heritage.

If you have items you would like to donate, please contact us at 416-923-9861 or [email protected]. Thank you for your generosity and support for the Ukrainian Museum of Canada, Ontario Branch.

We are especially interested in:
• Ukrainian embroidery, including vyshyvanky and embroidered linens
• Woodcraft and carved wooden items
• Ceramics and pottery
• Traditional folk art and decorative items from all regions of Ukraine
• Original woodcuts, linocuts, and other hand-pulled prints
• Ukrainian artwork, books, accessories, and other cultural items

The Museum also welcomes donations of artifacts with unique histories, documented stories, or known provenance. Historically or culturally significant artifacts may be considered for accession into the Museum’s permanent collection, where they can help preserve and share Ukrainian cultural heritage for future generations.

Congratulations to the Ukrainian Museum of Canada - National, Saskatoon on national recognition for Folk Imaginaries: Ukrainian Clothing as Memory and Imagination.

The exhibition has received a Silver Award of Excellence from Interpretation Canada, recognizing its outstanding interpretive planning, exhibition design, visitor experience, and storytelling.

Curated by Natalka Chomiak, Folk Imaginaries brings together historic garments, contemporary fashion, photography, and multimedia to explore Ukrainian clothing as a living expression of identity, memory, creativity, and resilience.

Recognition like this speaks to the strength of Ukrainian cultural work being created and shared across Canada, and to the people and institutions finding thoughtful new ways to connect heritage with the present.

Congratulations to the Ukrainian Museum of Canada, the exhibition team, collaborators, staff, and volunteers on this well-deserved achievement.

The exhibition remains on view in Saskatoon until August 28, 2026.

Community herbalist Dionne Jennings walks us through the plants, the remedies and the rituals: wax pouring, egg rolling, bonesetting, the evil eye. What stuck in Canada and what didn’t.

Bring a memory from your own family. A baba’s garden, a home remedy, a story you half remember. We want to hear it.

Testament • Zapovit
Ihor Rodion Dmytruk
June 21 – October 17, 2026

Testament – Zapovit is the first retrospective of Ihor Rodion Dmytruk (1938–2021), a Ukrainian Canadian artist whose life was shaped by war, displacement, and resilience. Born near Lviv, Ukraine, Dmytruk was forced to flee Soviet persecution as a child. He later settled in Alberta, where he established a distinguished career as both an artist and an influential teacher.

Featuring Dmytruk’s work alongside objects from Ukrainian Museum of Canada ON Ukrainian Museum of Canada – Ontario Branch, the exhibition explores Ukrainian identity, ancestry, and nationalism through the experience of post WW2 immigration to Canada. Together, these works affirm the resilience of Ukrainian culture in the face of efforts to erase it.

Organized by Ukrainian Museum of Canada (Saskatoon, SK), and presented in Toronto by Ukrainian Museum of Canada ON. Guest Curator Dave Melnychuk.
