THIS TUESDAY - A Soirée for Curious Minds Lecture Series
For more than a century, vampires have reflected the fears, desires, anxieties, and obsessions of each new generation. Once portrayed as pure monsters lurking in the shadows, vampires have gradually evolved into romantic outsiders, tragic antiheroes, and even cultural icons.
But what changed?
And what does that shift say about us?
This Tuesday, Prof. Valérie Florentin explores how vampires across literature, film, and popular culture reveal the societies that created them — and the changing ideas of who we fear, who we desire, and who we consider “the other.”
Join us for the final evening in our A Soirée for Curious Minds Lecture Series. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. with live piano music in our Art Gallery, along with light refreshments available for purchase before the lecture begins at 7:00 p.m.
