View online or in person by appointment. Wall Fiction sells fine art on consignment. Wall Fiction is a second market separate from that of auction houses and specialized galleries. We look for contemporary art by reputable mid-career artists known for creating quality work and historical works by established artists. We provide an online art experience for both new and seasoned collectors. For the
new collector, we offer an unpretentious and affordable entrance into art collection. By learning and browsing “curated” contemporary art online without the pressure of feeling like you need to say right things, you can start building a collection at your leisure. We’ve done the preliminary work for you. For the seasoned collector, we provide an opportunity for both buying and selling. If after years of collecting, learning and reshaping preferences and tastes, you want to change, we sell on consignment work from collectors, estates or down-sizing that galleries operating in the primary market aren’t concerned with and art that doesn’t match the narrowly defined criteria of auction houses. Every piece of art comes with a story. We make every attempt to investigate provenance – the history of ownership of the work – as well as the interesting stories they tell – be it a story about the artist, the subject matter or how Wall Fiction came to it. The word fiction was created late in the 14th century as something invented and was derived from the Latin word fictiō – a fashioning – and the word fingere – something to form out of clay. To us, art is fiction – something created by an artist’s hand and imagination, hence our name: Wall Fiction. In addition to the stories associated with each piece, we also believe that original art sparks ideas and conversation with those who own and display them and therefore has the ability to create new stories. So, whatever the story, truth be told, we take art seriously and the information we gather on each piece is as accurate as we can find. We are art professionals who bring you the experience and training expected in dealing with fine art. We feature work that we believe will not only maintain its appeal but also its value. Great art collections are made of stories lived and shared. Wall Fiction's office is located in Toronto, Canada.
