West Coast carver Richard Singleton has been carving walking sticks from wood gathered from local beaches and in the woods over the past 10 years or so. Richard was born and raised on BC's west coast, living in Victoria, Hope, Powell River and Vancouver. Richard has spent many years exploring its beaches and forests. His interest in First Nations culture started at an early age living near native

communities and fostering friendships. Working as a social worker for many years now Richard explored wood carving as a way to process the stresses of his day and explore his creative side. His intention was not to create saleable art however friends and family have convinced him his talent needs to be shared with a broader audience. This site is part of that attempt.
