FROM THE BC SPORTS HALL OF FAME BOARD OF TRUSTEES:
The BC Sports Hall of Fame, both the public exhibition space and collection storage areas, has been housed at BC Place since the mid-90s with the full support of our landlords and partners at the British Columbia Pavillion Corporation (BC PavCo). During that time, our province and BC Place specifically have been centre stage for exceptional, once-in-a-lifetime events, and being located within the large-scale dynamic building does require flexibility. We are grateful for the ongoing support from BC PavCo throughout this process, including in the form of extended free rent throughout 2025 and 2026, temporary office space and the construction of new, highly improved permanent archival space in the stadium.
While we would have appreciated being able to take the soccer collection on the road, the resources of the BC Sports Hall of Fame were allocated to preparation for the closure.
We appreciate the conversations that have taken place in recent days, but our focus is looking forward to re-opening post FIFA World Cup and welcoming everyone to our home at Gate A of BC Place.
We wish all the players and guests coming to BC Place the very best for an exceptional competition and our partners and friends at BC Place the very best for yet another world class event.
