Sharing a few photos of the artwork we acquired for Reflections Garden Terrace at the Rosewood Hotel Georgia. It was a an honour to have been a part of such an incredible project and I couldn’t be more proud of the work we did. This marks the final installation of a multi/year project; a meaningful and rewarding chapter from start to finish.

Susan Rothenberg’s painting Emma’s Legs, one of my favourites, and this quote taken from James Baldwin’s book Nothing Personal seem particularly fitting to me right now.

Another year, another birthday without you here.
Still, I feel you in the quiet moments; in my strength, in my memories, in the heart shaped stones we gather in your name.
Your strength. Your independence. Your generous spirit. These live on in me. Happy Birthday mom. Love you always.

Happy birthday!!! Hard to believe you turned 26 yesterday!! So proud of you baby girl. You are truly living your dream!...

And that’s a wrap!
Our time working with the has come to an end. With the re-opening of Reflections The Garden Terrace last month, our work reimagining the iconic Rosewood Hotel Georgia’s art collection is complete!

From the Lobby and Georgia Bar to the 1927 Lounge to the suites and corridors to the Reflection Terrace, and everywhere in between, we carefully selected pieces to align with Rosewood’s commitment to reflecting local culture while providing a “sense of place.” Our thoughtful consideration provides an atmosphere of elegance and sophistication, offering guests comfort and a sense of home while enriching their cultural experience.

It has been a pleasure working on this project and creating a space where artistry and hospitality seamlessly intertwine.

Keep an eye out for our art booklet to guide you through the RW Hotel Georgia’s collection coming soon!

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveller, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

and both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-
I took the one less travelled by,
And that has made all the difference.

I took the time last week to see the Rashid Johnson show “A Poem for Deep Thinkers” at the . So glad I did!! His conceptual practice speaks powerfully to the notions of freedom and black popular culture, liberating him to work across varying mediums - sculpture, paint, video, music, literature. Expressing the black experience with Iayered symbolism, he pushes the boundaries of contemporary art.
Johnson’s solo show houses close to 90 works; these were some of my favourites —
