Big news, tuna fans! The Wedgeport Tuna Museum is officially OPEN for the season as of today, June 1st!**

We are incredibly excited to welcome you back through our doors. Whether you're a regular visitor or stopping by for the first time, we can't wait to share our rich history with you.

🕒 **Our June Hours:**
* **Daily:** 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM

☀ **Summer Update:**
To give you even more time to explore, we will also be open on **weekends during July and August**!

✹ **A Milestone Year:**
This isn't just any regular season—**this is our 30th Anniversary year!** 🎉 30 years of preserving and celebrating our community's incredible fishing heritage. To celebrate, we have some fantastic new things coming to the museum very soon. Stay tuned for updates on new exhibits, events, and surprises!

Watch the Credit Union Virtual AGM at the museum.

Date: Thursday, April 23, 2026
Time: meeting is to start at 7pm
Place: Wedgeport Tuna Museum at 57 Tuna Wharf Road

Since many seniors are not tech savvy, the tuna museum will display the Credit Union AGM meeting on the large TV in our café. This will be only for Wedgeport Credit Union members who cannot join on their own. Space will be limited to 30 people.

FAMILY FEUD at the MUSEUM - May 8th

We will accept any 5 member teams, not just families. So anyone can register, friends, co-workers, families, etc.

Only 3 team spots remain!

Applications close on April 30th, interviews start early May.

Send your resumes to [email protected] or drop them off in person at the Museum from 9am-4:30pm Monday to Friday.

Events Coordinator – 10 Week contract
The position will provide quality service to visitors in both French and English, being Bilingual is needed for this position. They will open and close the gift shop, use the POS system daily, light cleaning and organizing duties, and helping with special events happening at the museum. They will be required to work some weekend shifts as the Museum is open 7 days a week.
This position is available for post-secondary students of students who are going to a post secondary institution in 2026. This 10-week position pays $16.75/hr for 35 hours per week.
All candidates that submit an application will need to register on the Young Canada Works website: young-canada-works.canada.ca. Only candidates registered on the YCW site will be considered for an interview. This position starts on May 25th.

Special Events Coordinator – 10 Week contract
The Event Coordinator position is responsible for the organization on events taking place at the Museum over the summer season, managing and coordinating supplementary programming. They will also help visitors through the exhibits, aide in the administrative everyday functions of the Museum. Being bilingual is not necessary for this position, but it is an asset.
This position is available for post-secondary students of students who are going to a post secondary institution in 2026. This position pays $16.75/hr for 35 hours per week. This position starts on June 22nd.

Museum Tour Guide– 8 Week contract
The position of Museum Tour Guide will provide quality service to visitors. They will open and close the gift shop, use the POS system daily, light cleaning and organizing duties, and helping with special events happening at the museum.
Being bilingual is not necessary for this position, but it is an asset.
This position is available for any full-time students. This 8-week position pays $16.50/hr for 35 hours per week. This position starts on July 4th.

We have three positions to fill with contracts ranging from 8 to 14 weeks long;
Special Events Coordinator, Museum Tour Guide, and Events Coordinator.
