If you loved From Our Walls and Marie Nagel's artwork, then you will love these Marie Nagel 2027 Calendars! Every month has a different work by Marie!

These 2027 calendars were originally printed by Jeff Nagel (Marie’s son) for her celebration of life in July. Jeff has very generously donated more of these calendars to the folks lending an artwork to the exhibition, with the remainder donated IMA to use as a fundraiser! We are so grateful for Jeff's support!

The Gallery is open from 11 am to 6pm, from Thursday to Sunday (closed around 2 instead! Come by the Gallery to see From Our Walls and pick up a calendar for yourself!

Gallery Opening Thursday August 20th @ 6 PM

In Wells, you're hard pressed to find a home without a Marie Nagel painting on the walls.

From August 20th to September 13th, 2026, Island Mountain Arts will host over 30 works from private collections around the Cariboo Region. You’ll notice that this design itself pays homage to Marie’s work to publish the Wells Community News, a monthly hard-copy newsletter that talked about all things Wells from the mid 1990s through the early 2000's.

Island Mountain Arts would like to thank Dennis Hawkins-Bogle, Cheryl Macarthy and Dave Jorgenson, Leanne Davies, Amy Dash, Veronica Brown, Kara Haack, Andy Townsley, Wylie Bystedt, Dorothea Funk, Carrie Johnston, Mia Cirotto and Stewart Cawood, Heather Grady, Anne Oliver, Linda Rummel, Danette Boucher, Kathy Landry, Claire Kujundzic (from the private collection of Anne Oliver), and Bob Campbell for loaning us artwork from their private collections.

We’d also like to thank Bill Horne and Amazing Space, who are generously donating proceeds from the “Buckley’s” T-shirt sales to Island Mountain Arts to offset our gallery costs.

Finally, we extend our endless gratitude to Marie’s son Jeff for his blessing to bring this show to life, and for the incredible calendars gifted to our organization so that donors to this show may take home a bit of Marie with them.

It is our absolute honour to uphold Marie’s legacy as an artist and an immense contributor to the community of Wells.

Island Mountain Arts operates on the territory of the Lhtako Dene Nation, a Traditional-Use Area of the Dakelh and Secwépemc peoples. Our Public Gallery is supported by the Province of British Columbia, keeping it free for patrons to attend.

Arts organisations across the province are encouraged to participate, regardless of whether or not you see yourself as a “gallery.”

Our BC Gallery Catalogue intends to provide information to artists and the general public about a spectrum of visual arts organisations, including arts councils, virtual or online artist collectives, artist run centres, public and commercial galleries, presentation spaces, museums, and Indigenous cultural organisations.

We hope to cultivate a better understanding of artist fee payments, cultural safety, and accessibility. We aim to provide a resource highlighting diverse opportunities for artists in British Columbia, and to support artists in deciding where to submit their work and detail the different professional paths available to them.
