It is with great pride and honour that we extend a special invitation to join us for the Grand Opening of Where the Waterways Meet- “Ta’n Etli-Tqwitkl” Indigenous Arts Exhibition, hosted at the Land’s End Art Gallery in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia.
Date: Friday, October 16, 2026
Time: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Location: Land’s End Art Gallery, 341 Main Street, Yarmouth, Nova Scotia
As we celebrate October Mi’kmaw History Month, this exhibition provides a meaningful opportunity to honour the strength, resilience, creativity, and rich cultural heritage of the Mi’kmaw people.
Where the Waterways Meet is more than an art exhibition. It is a celebration of the stories, teachings, and artistic expressions that connect our ancestors to our community, youth, and future generations.
Through the creativity and dedication of Indigenous artists, we recognize the importance of mentorship, cultural preservation, and sharing knowledge. We also celebrate the power of art to bring together people of all nations, races, and cultural backgrounds in a spirit of respect, understanding, and unity.
We are especially honoured to showcase the extraordinary works of Alan Syliboy, Dozay Christmas and powerful portraits celebrating the spirit of our Mi’kmaw Nation captured by Art Photographer Mike Wedge.
While October is officially recognized as Mi’kmaw History Month, our history, culture, language, and artistic contributions deserve to be honoured, celebrated, and shared every day of the year.
The exhibition will remain on display until January 22, 2027, providing an opportunity for visitors, families, youth, and communities to experience and appreciate the beauty and significance of Indigenous art.
We look forward to welcoming you to an evening of art, culture, reflection, and connection.
With respect and warm regards,
Melanie Robinson- Purdy
