Kolly Gallery

Kolly Gallery The Kolly Gallery promote the graffiti universe in Zurich and Switzerland since 2006. The Kolly Gallery will open on 2014 February 27th.

Born in Fribourg in 1979, Julien Kolly can be described as one of the pioneers of the street art culture in Switzerland. Director of the communication agency vingtneuf degres, he opens, in September 2006, his first gallery, GT29, in collaboration with the Nuithonie theater in Villars-sur-Glâne. Two years later, he founded La Grille in Yverdon-les-Bains which, at a rate of one show per month, allow

ed him to build a network of national and international artists at the forefront of the graphic culture and the latest trends. Dare, Alëxone, Swet, Tilt, Flying Förtress, MadC, Smash137, Lenz, L’Atlas or Dave the Chimp are a few names that invaded (left an ephemeral trace on) the walls of the gallery. Eager for new challenges, he has now decided to promote the graffiti and street art universe in Zurich, cosmopolitan city known for its international artistic influence.

Santa Maria Tu Madre & Cinquecento

Two large-format compositions where gesture and structure collide. With rhythm and repetition, Flavien creates dynamic tension across the surface—like visual mantras drawn from movement and memory.

🔁 From the Happy Painters Club series.

🌶️ Taco Del Diablo & Una Mineral

These two works blur the boundary between canvas and frame, color and structure. Painted edge to edge, they invite the viewer into a fully immersive, pulsating field of strokes.

💥 Art that spills beyond the surface.

Between the Sheets (90×90 cm)

Subtle contrasts, quiet depth. Flavien’s anthracite strokes barely emerge from the black background, inviting a slower, more intimate gaze.

🖤 A painting that whispers rather than shouts.

🖼️ Three voices from the NNN series

These smaller works (76×56 cm each) echo the visual language of the larger canvases—interruption, structure, and flow. Each is a snapshot of the ongoing tension between order and freedom.

🎨 Small format, big impact.

🖤 NNN Series – Composition & Obstruction

In this piece, layers of vibrant colors are partially concealed by bold black strokes. What’s hidden? What remains visible?

Flavien invites us to see abstraction as resistance, rhythm as rebellion.

🎵 West Coast Rhythm

At Dangerbird Records in LA, Flavien’s brushstrokes dance across the façade like soundwaves. The mural speaks to the pulse of the city, blending music, movement, and abstraction.

🏠 Art as architecture

Flavien brings his signature language of black and white strokes to this fully-covered structure—turning walls into rhythm, surfaces into sound.

A house becomes a canvas, and the street becomes the gallery.

⚫⚪ Unconditional (90×90 cm)

Minimal yet intense, this black and white composition offers a pure meditation on duality and rhythm. Each stroke is both individual and part of the whole—unconditionally connected.

Buddha Punk Poet 01 & 03

Bold, chaotic, joyful—these vibrant 90×90 cm compositions explode with color and rhythm. Flavien channels the energy of punk, poetry, and meditation in a single visual beat.

🧠 Harmony in contrast, chaos with clarity.

James In The Game (100×100 cm)

A deep burgundy field sets the stage for a dialogue of motion and balance. Flavien’s brushstrokes move like players in formation—each one essential, none alone.

🧑‍🎨 Flavien Demarigny, aka Mambo – where color, rhythm, and repetition meet.

In his abstract practice, Flavien steps away from narration and dives into the universal language of gesture. His vertical strokes aren’t just paint—they’re voices in a collective chorus.

🎉 Now Live: Happy Painters Club by Flavien Demarigny

Kolly Gallery is proud to present Happy Painters Club, a digital-only solo exhibition by Flavien Demarigny (aka Mambo ).

Known for his figurative and graphic works as Mambo, Flavien explores a quieter, more meditative dimension in this series—marked by repetitive vertical brushstrokes, minimalist rhythms, and abstract color fields.

Each painting reflects on human coexistence, the tension between individuality and collectivity, and the beauty that emerges from simple, repeated gestures.
