On the occasion of the Festival of Future Nows,
Bureaucracy Studies publishes
issue 4 of the Journal of Bureaucracy Studies.
The Festival takes place from 31 October to 2 November 2025
at the Museum Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin.

The Festival of Future Nows 2025
is a collaboration between
· the Neue Nationalgalerie – Stiftung Preußischer Kulturbesitz,
· the association Institut für Raumexperimente.
This is German and means :
Institute for Spatial Experiments.
The Festival 2025 is an initiative by
· exhibition maker Klaus Biesenbach,
· artist Ólafur Elíasson.


The Festival of Future Nows is organized by Christina Werner

The Festival of Future Nows is made possible
by funds from the Hauptstadtkulturfonds Berlin,
in partnership with the American Academy in Berlin.

Ausgabe 4 der Zeitschrift für Bureaucracy Studies.
"Festival of Future Nows" ist Englisch und heisst:
Feier von Gegenwarten, die in der Zukunft liegen.
Das Festival findet vom 31. Oktober bis 2. November 2025
im Museum Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin statt.


Das Festival of Future Nows
ist eine Zusammen-Arbeit zwischen
· der Neuen Nationalgalerie – Stiftung Preußischer Kulturbesitz,
· dem Verein Institut für Raumexperimente.
Die Idee zum Festival 2025 hatten
· der Ausstellungs-Macher Klaus Biesenbach, 
· der Künstler Ólafur Elíasson.


Das Festival of Future Nows
wird mit Geldern aus dem Hauptstadt-Kulturfonds bezahlt
und in Partnerschaft mit der American Academy in Berlin durchgeführt.

Bureaucracy Studies is opening “Standard Seating Height”.
Most works in “Standard Seating Height” are hanging lower than usual.
Only the metal stool by Sung Tieu does not hang lower than usual.
The metal stool by Sung Tieu is at standard seating height.
The metal stool and its photo belong to Sung Tieu and Trautwein Herleth, a gallery in Berlin.



These artists are showing works in “Standard Seating Height”:
· colored pencil drawings by Florian Bonny,
· a shelf by Charlie Froud,
· ceramics by Kyung Roh Bannwart,
· ceramics by Ernie Wang,
· a stool by Sung Tieu,
· a letter by CASE (Nicholas Tammens, Sung Tieu, Studio for Propositional Cinema).



There are also 2 museum prescriptions in “Standard Seating Height”.
Doctors issue prescriptions to visit museums for free.
The following Swiss French museums or cities give access to museums on prescription:
· the Ariana Museum in Geneva,
· the Atelier des musées of the City of Neuchâtel.



“Standard Seating Height” takes place at the CAN Centre d’art Neuchâtel.
“Standard Seating Height” is part of the exhibition “No Center”.
Everyone is welcome:
· to the opening on October 3, 2025, starting at 18:00,
· from 4 to 21 December 2025,
the CAN is open from Wednesday to Sunday,
from 11:00 to 18:00.
