Join us tomorrow to discover the show of Beat Zoderer during la Nuit des Bains.

Beat Zoderer is a major figure in contemporary Swiss art, whose practice is rooted in a constant dialogue with the legacy of Concrete Art, while gradually moving beyond it. Since the 1980s, his work has explored the relationships between color, form, rhythm, and space through a wide range of media, including painting, sculpture, and installation, with particular attention paid to systems and structures.
In Zoderer’s work, formal rigor is never synonymous with coldness; on the contrary, it serves a sensitive investigation into perception, the movement of the gaze, and the internal tensions of the image.

The series HAIKU fully belongs to this continuity, while at the same time marking a subtle shift. The title is not metaphorical; it designates a genuine working method. Like the haiku, a brief and condensed poetic form, these paintings rely on an economy of means, a high degree of precision, and a contained intensity. Executed in acrylic on MDF panels or cardboard, they present multicolored surfaces structured by grids and modular patterns, often composed of recurring small squares.

Citadelles
Opening Thursday 3 October, from 6 pm

We are delighted to announce Didier Marcel's solo exhibition “Citadelles,” which will be held from October 31 to December 13 at the galerie lange + pult in Auvernier. Join us for the exhibition opening on Thursday, October 30, starting at 6 pm.

Didier Marcel develops a unique sculptural work, where reality is transposed with precision. Literally prosaic subjects, multiple techniques and materials are used to create ambiguous forms. His work subtly plays with the codes of minimalism and ready-made art, while retaining a strong poetic and material charge. “Citadelles” perhaps defend the idea that the works ultimately have no other meaning than to be made by the artist himself.

The show of Till Rabus is on view until this Saturday.

« Strange, burlesque, a little wild, completely imaginary, often incongruous, with a dose of disturbing melancholy, even trashy. This could be the description of a dystopian feature film about the end of the world, as the big Hollywood industry knows how to churn out. It is also a definition that could apply to the prosaic and fantastical world of toys, which is also part of a monopolistic industry, that of disposable and superficial but oh-so-desirable mass-market products. And finally, it is what characterizes the polished and mischievously satirical painting of Till Rabus, who observes with disillusioned tenderness the slow decomposition of our consumerist excesses, while saluting their undeniable contribution to the sociological imaginaries that have constructed the universe of forms from the 1970s to the present day. The era of department stores, urban waste, Haribo sweets, fast food, motorway service areas, beaches and campsites polluted by plastic bags and industrial food... A generational universe of forms, recounting a golden age soon to fall. » Julie Chaizemartin, translated from French

OPENING TOMORROW | Henrik Eiben
Gap in the Clouds
Opening September 17, from 6 pm

Join us tomorrow for the opening of Henrik Eiben, from 6 pm.

Gap in the Clouds marks a subtle yet decisive turning point in Henrik Eiben's work, who unveils here a new series of sculptures in which forms, materials, and colors come together in a controlled tension between precision and lightness.

Tinted glass, polished steel, carved wood, and textiles are meticulously interwoven to create volumes of apparent simplicity. Behind the apparent purity of the lines lies a work of artistry that is both precise and intuitive. The elements are adjusted to the millimeter, but something resists perfection: an all-too-human inclination, an unexpected curve, a tension between two materials that nothing seemed to call for coexisting. The glass captures the light and then rejects it; the metal reflects a hue that is not its own. Nothing is fixed, everything is in transition.

ON VIEW | Alfredo Aceto | Genève
Amusia
Until 03.05.2025

The show of Alfredo Aceto “Amusia” is on view in our gallery in Geneva.

Inspired by sociology, art history, and gender studies, Alfredo Aceto uses media such as drawing, sculpture, and photography to explore traumas and emotional imprints. His practice intertwines personal and collective narratives, examining identity, language, the body, and its absence. Through these themes, he challenges power structures, social norms, and the blurred boundaries between reality and fiction.

For this exhibition, Aceto presents a new ensemble of sculptures, primarily from his emblematic Campanula series. Through fragmented narratives, these works explore self-perception, unresolved emotional tensions, and the body’s relationship with space. They extend his ongoing investigation of sexuality as an act of resistance against authority and repression, where the body becomes both subject and tool of defiance. Many of these sculptures incorporate bells, introducing a sonic and performative element. Yet, their meaning remains fluid: they might evoke kneecaps, reflective eyes, or even surveillance cameras, subtly playing with themes of perception and control.

Alfredo Aceto was born in Turin in 1991. He lives and works in Geneva. He has exhibited at numerous international institutions, including the Centre d’Art Contemporain in Geneva, the Museo del Novecento in Milan, the Kunsthaus Glarus, the Kunst Halle Sankt Gallen and MAMCO in Geneva.

ON VIEW | Gentaro Murakami | Auvernier
Eye contact
Until 12.04.2025

We are pleased to welcome you to our gallery in Auvernier until April 12, 2025 to discover the exhibition “eye contact” by artist Gentaro Murakami, on appointment.

With “eye contact”, Gentaro Murakami continues his pictorial quest, reinterpreting the vestiges of a collective past through a resolutely contemporary lens. He paints scenes of everyday life, testifying to an encounter between distant worlds and eras, fragments reflecting his personal history between Japan and France. By reproducing scenes taken from photographs or films from public or family historical archives, he gives new life to these forgotten characters and landscapes. Through painting, Gentaro Murakami recolors these old images, playing with composition, reflections and faces to reinterpret these historical images through the filter of the present.

Born in Japan in 1991, Gentaro Murakami studied at the École Média Art (EMA) in Chalon-sur-Saône and the École Nationale Supérieure d’Art (ENSA) in Dijon, where he now lives and works. With “eye contact”, galerie lange + pult is hosting a solo show by the painter for the third time, following a first exhibition in Auvernier in 2017 and again in 2020.
