Ju Ting Summer
Galerie Urs Meile, Zurich Rämistrasse  June 12 – August 22, 2026
Opening Reception: Saturday, June 13, 6–8 pm 
Galerie Urs Meile is pleased to present ‘Summer’, a solo exhibition by Ju Ting. At the centre of the exhibition is the artist’s recent series ‘Deep Waters Run Quiet’, in which dense layers of acrylic paint are built up, cut into, carved, and exposed. Through this process, Ju Ting transforms painting into a site of excavation, where destruction becomes a condition for renewal and new forms emerge from within the surface itself.

Xie Nanxing ‘Fugitive Figuration. Paintings 1994–2026’ Curated by Clémentine Deliss
Galerie Urs Meile, Zurich Ankerstrasse  June 12 – August 29, 2026 Opening: Friday, June 12, 6–9 pm 
We are excited to present ’Fugitive Figuration. Paintings 1994–2026’, a survey exhibition of works by Xie Nanxing curated by Clémentine Deliss.   Tracing the artist’s practice from his iconic paintings of the 1990s to works completed in 2026, the exhibition offers both an introduction to and an appraisal of Xie Nanxing’s singular position within contemporary Chinese and international art. For the first time, nine paintings from six different series are brought into dialogue, revealing the shifting forms and possibilities of figuration that have emerged throughout his practice over the last three decades.

Happy birthday to Wang Xingwei!🎇 
Born in 1969 in Shenyang and based in Beijing, Wang Xingwei has developed one of the most distinctive painterly languages in contemporary Chinese art. Since the early 1990s, his practice has continuously explored the possibilities of painting through shifting styles, unexpected narratives, and a sharp interplay between humour, ambiguity, and critical observation. His works often stage scenes that feel absurd, surreal, or subtly unsettling, balancing references to art history with reflections on contemporary life and the mechanics of image-making itself.

This week, we are celebrating the birthdays of both Pascale Wiedemann and Daniel Mettler🔥🎂 
Since 2002, Wiedemann/Mettler have developed a multidisciplinary practice spanning photography, painting, sculpture, and installation. Their works emerge through an ongoing process of mutual response, where one artist’s gesture becomes the starting point for the other, creating a uniquely symbiotic visual language that balances emotional intensity with formal precision, intimacy with spatial tension.
 We wish you both a wonderful birthday week, dear Pascale and Daniel!💚

Bringing together a new body of work created over the course of a year, the exhibition traces a continuous emotional and psychological flow, from euphoria and hesitation to reflection, insomnia, and anxiety. Through his distinctive painterly language, Yan transforms scenes drawn from everyday life into vivid, fable-like compositions where humour, vulnerability, and emotional immediacy coexist.
