AYE Gallery is pleased to present Seeing Mountains As Mountains Again, a new solo exhibition by .
Borrowing from the well-known Zen adage—Seeing mountains as mountains, seeing mountains as not mountains, seeing mountains as mountains again—the exhibition traces a return transformed through doubt, distance, and perception.
Across new paintings and drawings, Luo continues her quiet exploration of memory, presence, and disappearance. Paths at dusk, drifting light, familiar objects, clouds, and fleeting landscapes emerge and recede in works marked by subtle erasure, suspension, and restraint. Through repeated acts of depiction, veiling, and return, image becomes less representation than a site of contemplation.
Rooted in lived experience yet untethered from fixed narrative, these works inhabit a space between recognition and uncertainty, intimacy and distance. In Luo’s hands, losing oneself along familiar paths becomes a form of freedom—one through which new ways of seeing may begin.
A passage into the unseen.
