Founded in 2014, West Bund Art & Design offers the public an opportunity to encounter an exceptionally dynamic and diverse range of artworks, including painting, sculpture, photography, video, installation and performance by established and emerging artists from around the world. The artworks are presented by a blue-chip line-up of leading international galleries that are selected by West Bund Art
& Design according to each gallery’s importance in the global contemporary art scene and their program’s relevance to the art scene in China today. The careful selection of hi-quality galleries and artworks, presented in the spacious layout of the West Bund Art Centre on the Huangpu River in Shanghai’s fast-developing art district, makes West Bund Art & Design an annual art event that collectors, artists, critics and media all enthusiastically look forward to. A series of exciting curatorial programs, screenings, forums, talks and off-site exhibitions make West Bund Art & Design an unforgettable experience for everybody interested in the art of our time. In its fourth year, West Bund Art & Design is continuing to expand and refine its collaborations with museums, art institutions, galleries, artists and architect studios to establish a cultural landmark that will be the international gateway for contemporary art in China.
