The Museo Napoleónico
Founded in December 1961, the Museo Napoleónico was the first new museum opened by the government of Cuba after the Revolution. The museum is based on the collection of Julio Lobo, the most successful sugar trader in Cuba and the richest man in the country. Lobo collected only the finest pieces of Napoleonica available at the time including artwork, sculptures, furniture, porcelain, silver, armaments and items directly associated with Napoleon himself.
This is not an official page of the museum but done in cooperation with the museum director. This page is administered by Luke Dalla Bona, author of the upcoming “Catalogue of the Museo Napoleonico, La Habana, Cuba”, to be published by Mare et Martin, Paris in 2021.
