Late Holiday Monday Morning in Germany. I was curious about The Elderberry (Sambucus nigra), or Holunder as it's known locally in Germany!
Right now, it is in its late spring blooming the flat-topped clusters of tiny, creamy-white flowers. Later in the summer, these blossoms will turn into deep purple-black berries.
This is new plants for me.

Immune & Immune-Supportive Properties: Elderberry is famous for its high levels of antioxidants, particularly vitamin C and anthocyanins. It is widely used in syrups and teas to help soothe colds, seasonal sniffles, and support the immune system.
The Fragrant Blossoms (Elderflower): The exact white flowers in my photos are often used to make a refreshing summer syrup (Holunderblütensirup), traditional cordials, or dried for a calming herbal tea. They are known for their gentle, sweet aroma and mild diaphoretic properties (helping to break a fever). Happy Monday friends 🧡
