We regret to inform you that due to significant damage to the structure of Bentheim Castle, it must be temporarily closed. Unfortunately, this also affects the gopea-kunstraum.
In recent years, weather conditions have left significant marks on the historic building fabric. Following the collapse of a castle wall in April 2025, an extensive inspection revealed further damage to the masonry and parts of the building, posing a serious safety risk to visitors.
What gives us confidence is the word “temporarily,” However, it is still unclear exactly when the gopea-kunstraum will re-open again. Patience is required here but we remain confident! 🙏
