MEET THE TEAM: ALEC ROSS

The building carries the weight of so many stories, traces of violence and bliss break through the thick aura of its architecture. Presenting an art collection inside such a loaded space cracks open its story, expanding the horizon of imaginable narratives. There is a certain freedom that one can take when discussing art. In my tours, I explore this tension between the inescapable facts of history and the worlds teased by the artworks. Every group brings its views, offering new interpretations that further sculpt the experience.

Alec is an artist based in Berlin and is part of our art mediaton team.

We warmly congratulate Tracey Emin on the opening of her landmark survey at Tate Modern. Tracey’s work has been part of the Boros Collection since the mid-1990s, and the exhibition at Tate Modern offers a wide-ranging overview of 40 years of her practice.

Conversion of the bunker in 2004. Tons of reinforced concrete were dismantled from the inside to open up the building — removing the ceilings that had separated some floors from one another.

MEET THE TEAM: Monya Beutelspacher

'In the bunker, an ideologically charged hermetic block, the artworks serve as windows to the world. They hold, distract or push you as you ascend further and further up the spiral. It is truly intriguing for me to mediate contemporary art in such a challenging space to guests of all backgrounds.'

Monya is a writer and musician with a background in literature and art history. She is part of our art mediation team.
